A SharePoint component that enables due date flags similar to Outlook follow-up.

Follow-Up Column enables due date flags similar to Outlook follow-up functionality. Applying of flags to the list item allows adding of visual reminder in a natural way. Such feature releases from necessity of keeping in mind routine things like "What I have to do today" or "What I will need to finish in next two weeks".

The component derives from Date and Time column behaviour so you can filter and sort values in this column by standard action. DownTester 1.25

Test you Internet download speed.

DownTester allows you to easily test your Internet download speed in multiple locations around the world. DownTester will automatically test, one after another, the download speed of the links that you choose.

It moves to the next download URL after the specified number of seconds has been elapsed or after it downloads the specified amount of KB - just according to your preferences.

After the download test is finished, you can easily save the result into text / html / xml / csv file, or copy it to the clipboard and paste it into Excel and other applications.

Choosing the download URLs list
DownTester doesn't provide an official list of URLs for the speed test. If DownTester provide a URL list, all users of DownTester will use the same servers, and will eventually overload them.

Here's some instructions about how to choose your download URLs for your speed tests:
· First, go to the Web site of your internet service provider, and try to locate the download URL provided for speed test, and if you find it, add this download URL into the list. Many ISP companies provide a download URL for speed test. However, this speed test only shows the download speed between your computer and your ISP. It doesn't mean that you'll get the same speed when downloading a file from the other side of the world.
· Go to the Web sites of large companies and locate some files to download. It's recommended to find files larger than 5 MB in order to insure that the speed result will be accurate. Some Web sites also provide mirrors across many countries, so you can use it to easily add download URLs of other countries.

After collecting the URLs for the downloads test, use the "Add URLs List" or "Add URLs From File" options to insert your URLs into DownTester. The URLs that you add are automatically saved into the .cfg file, so DownTester will remember them in the next time that you use it.


FTP: Passive Mode vs Active Mode
DownTester also allows you to test the speed of FTP downloads (Addresses begin with ftp://). FTP downloads can work in 2 modes, which in some cases might give completely different results:
· Active Mode: When downloading a file in Active Mode, the FTP server connects from port 20 into your computer in a random port number. Sometimes firewalls are configured to disallow any incoming connection. If your firewall is configured in this way, you won't be able to make a download test in Active Mode.
· Passive Mode: When downloading a file in Passive Mode, your computer connects the FTP server in a random port number.

Some Internet providers gives high priority for regular Web sites (port 80) and other popular Internet applications, while giving very low priority for connection in random port number. This technique is known as "Traffic shaping".

If your Internet provider uses this technique, you may get much lower speed results with Passive Mode FTP, because the FTP clicnt connects in random port number which may get much lower priority than the regular http downloads. In order to change the FTP mode in DownTester, go to Options->Advanced Option.

Here are some key features of "BestCrypt":

· There are no limitations on the number of local physical drives on which a user stores BestCrypt containers. Any type of physical media may be used to store and access the data on the BestCrypt containers - hard drives, removable media, magneto-optical devices, etc.
· Any network accessible disk may be used by BestCrypt software for creating and accessing file-containers. This network disk may be shared by a server with any operating system.
· User may copy (backup) BestCrypt containers from one computer to another in network and continue to access encrypted data without any limitation on the operating system type. For example, a user may copy or move a file-container from a computer with a Windows operating system to a UNIX computer, yet continue access the data (now stored inside the container on the UNIX computer) from the Windows computer. Note that there is a separate version of BestCrypt for the Linux operating system.
· BCWipe utility. To avoid an unauthorized restoration of deleted files from your disks, you can run BCWipe utility to wipe deleted files from the disk. The utility may also wipe all free space and file slacks on the specified disk.
· CryptoSwap utility. BestCrypt can encrypt the Windows swap file. The swap file is the Windows system file that is used for virtual memory support, and it can store parts of documents that you are working with in an opened form on a hard drive. Even if an original document is encrypted by some powerful encryption program, Windows can put a whole document or part of it into the swap file in an unencrypted form. Encryption keys, passwords, and other sensitive information can also be swapped to the hard drive. Even if you use all of the security advantages of the latest Windows versions, simply investigating the swap file in DOS mode may allow someone to extract a lot of interesting information from the file. As far as we know, at the moment only BestCrypt allows encryption of the swap file contents.
· Container Guard utility. This utility prevents users from accidental deleting an encrypted file-container. As well, it prevents from deleting your file-container by an unauthorized person who has network access to your computer. In Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista Container Guard may be disabled only by an administrator.
· BestCrypt can create Hidden Containers that are not evident to an intruder. You can simply create another (hidden) container inside an already existing (shell) container. Data stored within shell and hidden containers can be completely different, passwords for the containers are also different, and it is impossible to tell whether a shell container is concealing a hidden container or not.
· Idea of Hidden Containers and its first implementation was invented by our company in 2001, and appeared as so fruitful that now it has been more or less implemented in many other software.
· BestCrypt has a low-level module (so called Keyboard Filter) that automatically turns on when the user enters password in BestCrypt password edit boxes. Keyboard Filter prevents keyboard monitor utilities (like Microsoft Spy++ ) from intercepting a real password that the user types.
· Automatic closing options.
· Timeout: all virtual drives are automatically closed if the user has left computer or simply does not touch keyboard and mouse for the specified time (i.e. a "Screen saver" style time-out).
· Hot Key - all virtual drives are automatically closed if the user presses the Hot Key combination on the keyboard.
· The main commands to control access to encrypted data may be run from Windows Explorer ("My Computer" window) without starting BestCrypt Control Panel. To run these commands from Explorer, you should use the same method as for creating and opening any other document from Explorer, for example, a Microsoft Word document.
· BestCrypt has been designed with an extensible architecture - any third-party encryption software or hardware developers can insert security extensions into the BestCrypt software - for example, additional encryption algorithms, proprietary procedures of entering the passwords, or additional hashing algorithms. · The BestCrypt Development Kit contains the source codes of all BestCrypt modules responsible for the security of the software.
· BestCrypt automatically saves information concerning whether to share BestCrypt logical drives on a network. Now user does not have to share the BestCrypt drives every time he/she reboots operating system.

RouterPassView 1.03

Recover passwords from router config file.

Most modern routers allow you to backup the configuration of the router into a file, and then restore the configuration from the file when it's needed.

The backup file of the router usually contains important data like your ISP user name / password, the login password of the router, and wireless network keys. If you lost one of these password/keys, but you still have a backup file of your router configuration, RouterPassView might help you to recover your lost password from your router file. This little tool will allow you to recover passwords from router config file.

Due to large amount of router models available in the market, it's impossible to support all of them. For now, RouterPassView supports a limited number of router models, and
I'll gradually add support for more routers in future versions.

Also, be aware that even if your router is not in the list, you can still try to open your router backup file with RouterPassView, because some routers are sold with different brand name, but they still use the same software / chipset of other routers.
